In today's world, many of us at some point, in some area of our lives will feel lost. That we don't have clarity around what exactly we need to do to navigate our complex challenges.
In this episode, I investigate this issue, by discussing the Cynefin model of problem-solving, by Dave Snowden.
In short, complex problems are those that the world is indeed too uncertain or unknowable to plan an accurate route ahead. So, it IS understandable that you feel lost.
The trick to approaching complex problems is to use safe-to-fail experiments, to explore what opportunities the world has to offer. Rather than "thinking our way forward" we need to "experiment our way forward" - have an idea of what might work and test our assumptions to see what works best in practice.
